Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum (transl. Gemini Ganesan and Suruli Rajan) is a 2017 Indian Tamil-linguistic communication romantic comedy motion-picture show, written and directed by Odam Ilavarasu and produced by T. Siva. The film stars Atharvaa, Soori, Aishwarya Rajesh, Regina Cassandra, Pranitha and Aaditi Pohankar. Narrating the story of a college-fourth dimension casanova heading dorsum to evangelize wedding invitations to his ex-girlfriends, the film was released on 14 July 2017.

During October 2015, T. Siva agreed to finance Odam Ilavarasu's directorial debut with Kalaiyarasan and Soori signed on to play the lead roles.[1] Titled Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, the film was reported to exist a crime thriller and comedy with four pb actresses. Nonetheless, the shoot of the film was indefinitely delayed from Dec 2015 and the project was later shelved.[2]
The story seems to follow a similar storyline like the Hindi film Bachna Ae Haseeno. In a plow of events during June 2016, the film was launched with Atharva in the pb role, while Regina Cassandra was thereafter signed on equally one of the pb actresses. The picture show began shooting during belatedly June 2016 in Madurai.[3] [4] The 3rd schedule of the motion-picture show began in Ooty during September 2016, with actresses Pranitha, Aishwarya Rajesh and Anandhi also joining the film's bandage.[5] The director had initially cast Aishwarya in the role afterwards assigned to Pranitha, merely changed his mind.[6] The squad then returned to Chennai to moving picture a fourth and final schedule, with the makers announcing that the film would be released during December 2016.[seven] Anandhi left the projection in Oct 2016, citing that she did not experience her function was meaningful in comparing to the other actresses, and was subsequently replaced by Hindi actress Aaditi Pohankar.[8] [nine]

The picture was released on fourteen July 2017 alongside three other notable Tamil releases in Pandigai, Rubaai and Thiri. It opened to mixed reviews, with a critic from The Hindu stating it was "a rom-com that fails to bring in the chuckles".[10] Likewise, The Indian express wrote "this picture volition surely come under the category of it being and so bad that it'due south proficient" and that "the leading ladies in the film are not even arm candy equally within minutes we see a new face as the film moves frontward", concluding "this film is merely, a spoof of spoofs".[xi] Likewise, Sify.com called the moving picture a "slow scout" calculation "the film is basically a regressive anti-women modernistic 24-hour interval version of Cheran'southward classic Autograph (2004)".[12] [xiii]
